Optimize Object Position
Step 2: Select the sheet
1. Click "Next" to continue. We will see the following window:
Add Sheet (+): Select this option to add a new sheet. More details...
Less Sheet (-): Select this option if you want to delete a sheet.
2. Select an existing sheet or create a new one:
Distance Item to Item : Define distance between objects.
Distance Item to Sheet : Define distance between objects and the sheet.
Nesting Time by Sheet : Define the time spent calculating the most optimized position of the objects per sheet. Higher time should improve the optimization results.
Limit of variant : Define the maximum possible solutions to be calculated. 20 is a correct default value. If the result is not good enough, we can increase the value.
Distance Precision : This parameter defines the tolerance on the distance between objects. For example, if we define a distance of 1mm between objects, and an accuracy of 0.05, the distance will be from 1mm to 1.05mm. Defining a value unnecessarily low, exponentially complicates the calculation. It is not advisable to use values less than 0.005mm.
PolyLine Tolerance : Allow us to set the tolerance value for creating straights PolyLines which RhinoNest works with.
PolyLine Angle Tolerance : Allow us to set the angle tolerance value for curved lines which RhinoNest will convert to PolyLines.
Automatic Nesting : Ignores the values of rotation, advanced settings and makes the nesting under the best approach to each individual case.
Use Rectangle Shape : Use the object's bounding box for nesting.
Delete Original : The original objects will be deleted, when you click on "Finish".
Optimize PolyLine : Reducing points using a tolerance. The tolerance doesn't modify the geometry, just internally to compute the nesting.
Nesting Criterion : We also have the option to define how they all behave. More details...
3. We can save the options to use it another time with "Save" button:
And it will appear on "Presets":
Add configuration (+): Select this option to add configuration.
Less configuration (-): Select this option if you want delete the selected configuration.
Check preset parameters with mouse-over:
Important Note: This option will appear as long as all of the objects have the same orientation, applying globally to it all. In other words, if in the graphical editor we have defined different values for different objects, this option will appear as a number. If we change it, we can apply this value to all objects.
